COERR Mae Sariang and the Activities for Refugee Children and Youth in Ban Mae La Oon and Ban Mae Lama Luang Camps during March 2013

In March 2013 COERR Mae Sariang took the opportunity of the school break in refugee camps to organize activities in which children and youth can participate.

On March 19, 2013, sixty children and youth were divided into small groups of 10 or more. Then each group participated in the community work such as building some new rest rooms for their school, repairing the house and restrooms for the poor and vulnerable refugees in Section 2, 4, 8 and 11A. This community service activity has served our goal that is to raise awareness of the children and youth to contribute to the poor and vulnerable people in their community who were unable to do the house repair alone. The results are the additional number of restrooms for the school and the better condition of the houses of the Poor.

2) Garbage Collection by Children and Youth in Ban Mae La Oon

On March 23, 2013 COERR Mae Sarieng has organized the public cleaning day to have 200 children and youth in Ban Mae La Oon Camp gathered together and cleaned the public areas in their community areas in order to raise their awareness that being part of their community they should contribute to the healthiness and sanitation of the community. Their activity especially garbage collection will be a good sample of making the community clean and free from pollution and safe for living.
